Role Introduction



Occupational Therapy has led the way working across boundaries in Leeds. We now have an established mixed rotation working across the city. We are currently recruiting for an Occupational Therapist to join the rotation which provides opportunity to work within four organisations; Leeds teaching Hospitals Trust, Leeds and York Partnership Foundation Trust, Leeds City Council and Leeds Community Healthcare.

We are looking for an individual who is:

Passionate about occupation and its role in mental health and physical health



Able and willing to work flexibly, including shifts and weekends



Able to work in various teams and on different sites across Leeds



The mixed rotation offers great opportunities to work with various groups of service users, including in physical and mental health settings, and community and in-patient environments. Each rotation is for nine months.



You will be supported in your personal and professional development via clinical supervision, training and other Continuing Professional Development opportunities. Each of the partner organisations offer established preceptorship programmes for new graduates offering specific support and development throughout your first year.



The successful applicants will be employed via their recruiting organisation and will rotate to partner organisations. The successful applicant will therefore be employed by Leeds Community Healthcare. Our interventions are varied and include management of long-term conditions, falls prevention, urgent response to prevent hospital admissions, and facilitating hospital discharge using Home First principles to optimize independence. You will have the opportunity to develop wide and varied skillsets, with professional freedom to work holistically, using health coaching and self-management approaches working towards patient's goals. We want our patients to see the right person at the right time.



You will have opportunity to make a positive difference to patients' lives while enhancing your clinical and leadership skills by working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team and supported by clinical supervision, peer support and regular CPD. You will contribute to service improvement projects across the Trust and wider partners to develop therapy and rehabilitation services across Leeds.



You will carry a caseload working autonomously to deliver and facilitate rehabilitation to enable patients to manage their own goals, maximising opportunities to live a fulfilling life. You will be supported by senior therapists within the service.



The role promotes remote working over 7 days between 8am and 6pm, weekend/unsocial hours attract enhanced pay. We support a positive work life balance and offer a flexible working policy. You will be aligned to a North, South or West hub area with an understanding that this is a city-wide service and there may be a requirement for cross cover working, where possible consideration will be given to any caring responsibilities.
