The Process Engineer is a pivotal role responsible for driving continuous improvement, enhancing process stability, and empowering operational teams. Based on a solid mechanical engineering foundation, the role combines technical expertise with leadership to deliver excellence across our manufacturing operations.
This hands-on position involves managing the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS - Limble), leading Lean initiatives, and supporting cultural change towards proactive maintenance and high-quality standards. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to improve reliability, reduce downtime, and ensure all process documentation and training are current and effective.
Key Responsibilities
Lead continuous improvement activities using Lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes, reduce waste, and boost efficiency.
Manage and optimise the CMMS (Limble), ensuring timely scheduling and execution of preventative maintenance (PM) tasks.
Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions using SCRIBE software, ensuring they are clear and accessible.
Lead and support Autonomous Maintenance programmes by training operators to carry out routine checks and basic maintenance.
Act as a technical coach for production staff, reinforcing maintenance routines, process control, and housekeeping standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes of equipment issues and implement effective corrective actions.
Support engineering projects such as equipment upgrades and installations, providing impact analysis and training support.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records, process documentation, and improvement logs.
Own and manage ERP process data including routings, standard operation times, and production flows to support accurate planning, scheduling, and cost control.
Analyse productivity and efficiency data to identify gaps and drive operational improvements.
Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the shop floor.
Qualifications & Skills
Mechanical Engineering background with practical manufacturing experience.
Proficient in using CMMS platforms (preferably Limble) for preventive maintenance.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and fault diagnosis.
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools.
Competent in developing SOPs and delivering technical training.
Desirable:
Yellow or Green Belt certification in Lean or Continuous Improvement.
Experience with SCRIBE or similar documentation software.
Prior experience training or coaching production personnel.
