The Role:
We're seeking talented graduates to join our Process Safety team in Warrington. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and provide Process Safety Consultancy services to clients to demonstrate compliance with legislation such as Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH), Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR), Offshore Safety Case Regulations and the Nuclear Safety Case Regulations. You'll work on projects to demonstrate that the risk from Major Accident Hazards (MAHs) (e.g. fire, explosions and toxic gas releases) are As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP). Examples of the projects that you may work on include Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) scribing and attendance, fire and explosion consequence modelling and DSEAR reviews.
You'll be joining a collaborative team of process safety professionals within a high-performing consultancy. With decades of experience and a reputation for technical excellence, our Process Safety business spans three key service offerings, Hazard Identification, Risk Quantification and DSEAR compliance.
Your Impact in this Position:
As a Graduate Process Safety Consultant, you'll play a key role in supporting the technical delivery of projects and get the opportunity to put into practice the skills you have learnt at University. You'll gain hands-on experience through visits to client sites and facilities as well as opportunities to work on projects at different stages of design from concept through to decommissioning.
You'll have the opportunity to collaborate across disciplines including nuclear safety, human factors and fire engineering, attend client meetings and site visits, and contribute to technical reports and calculations . With mentorship from senior engineers and access to a structured development programme, you'll build the skills, confidence, and experience needed to progress toward chartership and beyond.
MANDATORY Training & Qualification requirements
Have, or be on course for achieving, a relevant degree in one of the following subjects:MSc, MEng, BEng/BSc in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Safety, Control/Instrumentation or Functional Safety related discipline.

As part of the scheme, you'll have access to the CMI Foundation Chartered Manager pathway through flexible, online Bite Size programs. Choose from a range of topics--including Managing Change, Leading in a Digital Age, Conflict Resolution, Project Management, and Data-Driven Decision Making--to build your leadership and management skills.
Application and Selection Process
To apply for the Tetra Tech RPS 2026 Graduate Scheme, candidates must submit an up-to-date CV detailing their academic background, relevant experience, and motivation for joining the programme. All applications will be acknowledged upon receipt.
Following initial screening, shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete an online assessment designed to evaluate key competencies and problem-solving skills relevant to consultancy work. Those who progress beyond this stage will be invited to attend a final assessment, which will take the form of either an in-person interview or an assessment centre, depending on location and discipline.
