Key Responsibilities
As a Graduate Simulation Engineer, you will:
Carry out simulation activities to support and deliver Powertrain projects to agreed time, cost and quality targets.
Contribute to the development of RML's in-house vehicle simulation software and toolboxes.
Manage software and toolbox versions using subversion control systems.
Support the identification and testing of new candidate battery cells, analyse results, and update the RML cell database.
Build and maintain broad vehicle performance knowledge to deliver safe, reliable and competitive Powertrains.
Support target setting, design of experiments (DoEs) and sensitivity studies throughout project lifecycles.
Conduct Multiphysics analyses, including CAD processing, meshing, test setup, and post-processing of results.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of Engineering Guides, Procedures and Standards.
Liaise with cross-functional teams (Vehicle Engineering, Purchasing, etc.) to ensure integrated design optimisation.
Ensure health and safety compliance and actively contribute to RML's safe working culture.
Continue professional development (CPD) and research new technologies to enhance RML's CAE and simulation capabilities.

About You
We're looking for a proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented graduate who thrives in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, Aerospace).
Experience in vehicle subsystem or component simulation (e.g., via Formula Student or work placement).
Skills and Knowledge:
Awareness of
Matlab/Simulink
and
Object-Oriented Programming
.
Understanding of physics principles (structural loads, constraints, heat transfer, fluid dynamics).
Some knowledge of
Control Theory
.
Awareness of structured problem-solving tools (8D, Ishikawa) and analytical techniques.
Ability to produce clear, accurate technical reports and documentation.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Flexible, adaptable, and customer-focused approach.
