They are recruiting for a Graduate Systems Developer to strengthen their small but growing Digital team. The role can be based in Manchester with a flexible hybrid working option to work remotely up to three days a week.

What is the role?

They are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with great technical and people skills. You will be working within digital landscape to help deliver industry leading business applications to support our business and customers. This will involve determining requirements, designing, building, and maintaining web and mobile applications.

Duties and responsibilities
You will:

  • Collaborate and coordinate with multiple cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to develop web and mobile applications.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Produce user stories and organise workloads into sprints.
  • Collaborate on technological choices, tools and business processes to ensure useability, reliability, adoption and future proofing.
  • Document code, processes and dependencies.
  • Domestic travel to attend meetings and support projects (typically less than 10% travel).
Skills and experience

What you\'ll need to succeed

Understanding of the follow technologies:
  • HTML5 / CSS3
  • Typescript - Angular with Material, RxJS
  • Flutter
  • Jakarta EE (Java) - RESTful web services, EJB, CDI, JPA, JSONB, JMS
  • SQL and a firm understanding of relational databases (ideally with PostgreSQL server preferred)
  • Podman (Docker) containers, including familiarity with Enterprise Linux (RHEL, ORACLE, CENTOS)
  • Excellent communication skills, at all levels to gather and analyse business requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with other Developers, Project Owners, QA engineers and end users.
  • Able to prioritise time across multiple major projects particularly when working to deadlines.

Remote (once a month Manchester office)
