Job Title:

Graduate Engineer:

The candidate will be expected to work within our design team, undertaking structural designs and surveys on a diverse portfolio of domestic projects, ranging from simple internal alterations to more prestigious new dwelling developments.

The key tasks required in the role will be to:

Commit to the company's mission statement and philosophy. Support the structural engineers on structural designs, surveys and computer modelling. Assist in undertaking structural surveys and site inspections. Assist in the preparation of detailed structural calculations and reports. Assist in the preparation of detailed sketches, layouts and drawings for the required structural works. Assist in the structural modelling and analysis of skid bases and modules for the oil and gas industry. Support other members of the design team when requested. Assist the managing director and senior engineers in systemisation and streamlining of the structural design calculation process and other aspects of the daily work flow in the office. Carry out other duties appropriate to the level of experience and grade of the post. Promote continuous improvement and deliver a high-quality standard of service. Adopt a philosophy of personal development and self-improvement.
The successful individual will:

Have a basic understanding of the technical elements of structural engineering. Be degree qualified, to a minimum level of B.Eng. Have professional membership of, or be willing to join, the Institute of Structural Engineers, and be working towards/or be willing to work towards chartered status. Have knowledge and experience in the design and detailing of all basic structural elements, such as beams, floors, roofs, foundations and retaining walls. Have a basic understanding of all relevant British Standard and European design codes. Have a basic understanding of the requirements under the CDM Regulations 2015. Be diligent, self-motivated and be able to work individually and as part of a team. Have excellent organisational and time management skills. Be a great and effective communicator, be well presented and have a considerate and courteous manner. Have an ability to work to tight deadlines whilst also showing an ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Be a good problem solver, creative and have an ability to "think outside the box". Be willing to learn and develop not only their technical skills but also themselves personally. Have a clean driving licence.

The role offers a competitive salary based upon relevant experience, plus a benefits package including pension, car milage allowance, private healthcare, well-being allowance and discretionary bonuses.

Initially we envisage the appointment to be at the level of a Graduate Engineer.

However, should the successful applicant show continued successful performance and development our ethos and company structure could allow for natural progression within the company.
