The team and role

Amey Consulting are looking to recruit a Graduate Telecoms Engineer to join our Central Rail team in Birmingham. The railway sector has always been one of our core sectors and because of our success in building and maintaining the railway, Amey Consulting has become an industry leader in Rail Design consultancy services. With a growing team working across our Rail design offices throughout the UK we are continuing to add to our already extensive and impressive list of project awards We are passionate about the Rail Infrastructure projects that we design and take pride in seeing our towns and cities thrive by improving connectivity, journey times and quality of life. As a Graduate, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be part of team contributing to large infrastructure projects and delivering solutions to our clients. From day one you\xe2\x80\x99ll be given real responsibility, gaining invaluable experience and exposure working alongside our industry experts. You will be working with you team to deliver the following:
  • Carry out site surveys and providing appropriate reporting.
  • Carry out design and assessment work for electrical power/telecoms elements of projects.
  • Preparation and/or checking design calculations, contract documentation, drawing production, technical documents and project reports in accordance with the project brief and in compliance with current standards.
  • Attend meetings with the client and other project related organisations.
  • Maintain high technical standards, consistent with the project brief and compliance with Amey HSEA requirements.

What we need from you

  • 2:1 degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Interest in telecommunications.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Enjoy working in a team environment, sharing ideas, and collaborating with colleagues.
  • Confidence to work under pressure, and the ability to prioritise and plan effectively.
