Due to continued expansion, Gibbs Surfacing Northern Ltd is seeking a Graduate Trainee Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join our team at our St Helens office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated graduate looking to build a career within road, road surfacing and civil engineering sectors of the construction industry. Road surfacing is a multi billion pound per annum sector of the UK economy.

About the Role

The successful candidate will receive full training in all aspects of road surfacing and minor civil engineering. The role will involve preparing accurate and competitive tenders across all sectors of the construction industry.

You will also be responsible for negotiating and procuring materials and plant requirements from our supply chain partners for each scheme quoted.

In addition, the role will involve sorting any occasional related queries and disputes appertaining to the contracts tendered and secured.

Candidate Requirements

A construction-related university degree is preferred
(other numerate degrees, such as Mathematics, will also be considered)

Highly numerate, with a minimum GCSE grade 5 in Mathematics and English. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Good communication and negotiation skills A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
