Grants & Fundraising Manager, Specialist Early Years Charity
8 hours per week.
Yeovil Opportunity Group is a unique charity run pre-school which has been providing SEND early intervention strategies for children who need additional support on their learning and development journey, as well as supporting their families, for over 55 years. Our ethos is based on working in partnership with parents, carers and multi-agency professionals in the incredibly critical early stages of the SEND journey, with our children moving into both mainstream and specialist education.
Aim of the post
: To generate an agreed level income from local, regional and national grant pots to increase the range and effectiveness of Yeovil Opportunity Group and to manage the operational delivery of the annual fundraising plan.
Person Specification:
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience;
Relevant qualifications, previous experience in grant / bid writing, fundraising, and excellent communication skills
Successful track record of achieving agreed financial income targets with a charity, CIC, social enterprise or not-for-profit organisation.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, work collaboratively and supportively as part of a team, providing leadership when required.
Manage time effectively and work to deadlines; be organised in monitoring grants and responding to grant providers.
High-level ICT competency skills - Word, Excel, Publisher or similar, AI and email.
Value and respect the views and needs of YOG's children and families and understand the importance of safeguarding children
Respect and value the different experiences, ideas and backgrounds others can bring to the work
Committed to personal and professional development, learning from past experiences
Duties;
Research potential grant providers to seek funding opportunities especially those relating to Yeovil Opportunity Group's areas of operation.
Determine and create plans to streamline the grants administration procedure.
Initiate contact and write bids to raise funds to support Yeovil Opportunity Group.
Liaise with grant providers to ensure receipt of applications, and get feedback for any unsuccessful bids in order to learn and develop moving forward.
Closely track grant expenditure and monitoring for successful bids, in line with the terms of each grant received.
Inform the CEO of any grant restrictions applied to their spending.
Ensure all reporting is completed promptly so as not to compromise any funding received.
Report grants writing income / work in progress to Trustees & Leadership Team at regular intervals.
