JOB TITLE: Grants and Impact Officer

LOCATION: Pavilion Buildings, Brighton

This role will be based predominantly at Pavilion Buildings, Brighton. Depending on their roles, our staff can be required to work on a range of different sites, including our main training centre, enrichment site, training cafes and employer's premises.

JOB SUMMARY

Team Domenica's Grants and Impact Officer will work with the Fundraising Manager to lead on successful funding applications, manage reporting requirements and develop excellent relationships with small and medium sized funders (up to 45,000 p/a). You will also co-ordinate data collection across the organisation, to inform and develop the charity's impact measures. This position would suit someone with strong organisation and time management skills, a passion for writing, a data-driven approach and an interest in improving the lives of people with learning disabilities. Your applications will benefit from existing impact measures; high quality reports, moving testimonials; inspiring case studies and excellent photography. This role is the perfect next step for a candidate with some experience, who is looking to progress in their fundraising or data and evaluation career.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Trusts and Foundations:

Lead on all small to medium-sized grant applications (up to 45,000 per year or 25,000 per year for multi-year grants) from regional and local trusts, foundations and grant making organisations in line with agreed income targets.

Build and maintain excellent relationships with small to medium grant-making trusts and foundations, including arranging and leading on visits from these funders.

Prepare inspiring progress reports for all small and medium-sized funders.

Lead on producing Team Domenica's quarterly funder newsletter.

Research new sources of funding, with matching criteria to Team Domenica, from charitable trusts and foundations.

Support the Fundraising Manager on larger funding relationships, where relevant.

Work with programme staff to bring together the required information from across the organisation to create compelling new core copy and funding proposals.

Attend regular meetings with the fundraising team and other teams across the organisation. Collate and present trust and foundation updates at monthly Fundraising and Communications Team meetings.

Support the wider activities of the fundraising team as required, including representing Team Domenica at fundraising events and being an excellent advocate for the charity.

Work with SLT to develop the annual capital expenditure funding process.

Data and Evaluation:

Co-ordinate organisational impact data collection and the internal dissemination of this data.

Lead on maintaining excellent record keeping on CRM (Donorfy) for the Fundraising Team.

Keep up-to-date on ways for the fundraising team to most effectively use Donorfy, presenting findings and making recommendations where relevant.

Conduct annual reviews of the wider literature around learning disabilities, education and employment.

Other:

Lead on thanking all donors, providing the best possible donor stewardship.

EXPERIENCE

Essential:

- Six months' experience in fundraising or securing new business in a related industry (e.g. sales)
OR

- Six months' experience in data collection, analysis and dissemination processes (for example, survey design and dissemination).

- Proven experience of outstanding writing and communication skills

- Proven ability to manage workload and meet deadlines

- Sound understanding and experience of Microsoft Office, including Excel (ideally at an advanced level) and Word

Desirable:

- Track record of writing successful grant applications and funder reports

- Experience using a CRM

- Understanding budgets and financial information, and communicating these to funders / clients.

Please note that whilst we are looking for experience in either fundraising / securing new business or data collection, the post-holder will be supported to learn the necessary processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree at 2:1 or higher

or

Two or more A-Levels in relevant areas (eg. English, Maths) at B or above, with proven employment experience of writing and meeting deadlines

PERSON SPECIFICATION

A natural communicator, able to build strong relationships with funders and with colleagues across the organisation. Excellent written skills, attention to detail and ability to create comprehensive and inspiring narratives. Ability to collect, understand and present qualitative and quantitative data Excellent administrative and organisational skills, including ability to meet deadlines and diligence in filing and record keeping. Passionate about equity, inclusion and improving life chances for young people with SEND.
