Grapevine is a division of Caterite Food & Wineservice Limited, a food and drink wholesaler based in the Lake District delivering to customers throughout the North of England and Scotland. After 50 years of trading, the company is entering a new chapter in its history with new ownership, whilst staying true to the values and service which has guided its success so far.

Our company is transforming food and wine service through new technologies developed alongside our advanced e-commerce website. Grapevine has worked hard to establish an enviable reputation for supplying premium customers with top-quality wines, beers and spirits, all delivered at competitive prices as part of a friendly and efficient service in which extra is standard.

We offer wine education and training, expert advice, events and tastings, and strong regional partnerships. We are now looking for a proactive Operations Manager to join our team and oversee the smooth running of our warehouse and transport operations.

Key Responsibilities



Oversee all goods in and goods out processes to ensure accuracy, including deliveries, replenishment, rotation, storage, and waste management. Manage the warehouse and transport team, providing leadership, support and clear communication Plan and coordinate daily delivery routes and logistics. Maintain stock accuracy, including regular checks and problem resolution Manage KPI tracking for departmental performance. Maintain a safe, clean and well-organised working environment. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, equipment and transport and warehouse procedures. Communicate cross functionally and effectively on operational issues. Drive forward a proactive customer focused approach. Plan and manage team rotas, holidays, and workload distribution. Train and develop team members, supporting their growth and performance. Act as thefirst point of contact for all people-related matters, providing guidance and support to staff while fostering a positive, inclusive work environment Work closely with the wider team to support education events, tastings, and service initiatives Drive continuous improvement across operations and workflow Represent Grapevine's commitment to reliability, quality, and customer care

Requirements



Proven people management experience, ideally within logistics, warehousing, distribution, or transport operations A hands-on approach and willingness to be actively involved in daily operations Attention to detail with the ability to manage warehouse processes and systems. Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft Office and warehouse systems Excellent organisation, leadership, and communication skills Professional, self-motivated, and able to manage workload independently Strong customer service focus and a proactive approach to work Able to work early mornings and flexible schedules as required Commitment to upholding Grapevine's high standards of service with a desire to support a long-standing, well-established local business

Schedule: Monday to Friday rota, early starts required and flexible shift availability is essential

Hours: 40 per week
