Job purpose:
The Graphic Designer will play a key role in delivering high-quality visual communications that support East Devon District Council's strategic priorities and enhance public engagement. Working across print and digital platforms, the postholder will create compelling designs that reflect and enhance the Council's brand, values, and commitment to serving the community.
This role involves collaborating with internal teams to produce fully accessible, inclusive, and visually effective materials--from campaign assets and signage to social media graphics and publications. The designer will ensure consistency, creativity, and clarity in all outputs, helping to communicate complex information in a clear and engaging way
About you
As an experienced Graphic Designer, you'll have the technical skill to design act as brand guardian, ensuring corporate brand consistency across all outputs, maintaining visual standards and accessibility best practices.
You'll have a thorough knowledge of brand principles and experience of delivering a consistent corporate identity in order to act as a brand guardian, ensuring corporate brand consistency across all outputs, maintaining visual standards and accessibility best practices. An understanding of internal branding will also be helpful as you'll be champion for the internal "One Team East Devon" employer brand to support the implementation of the corporate People Strategy.
People skills and customer service are also key for collaborating with internal teams to interpret briefs and deliver creative solutions that meet strategic communication objectives. This may include visits to sites across the region to identify opportunities for appropriate signage etc.
You'll be used to balancing priorities and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and adapting to changing priorities. You'll work with the Communications Manager to prioritise workload and provide them with oversight of design projects.
