Brief Description

We are looking for a Graphic Designer for a Permanent Position (full time) based in Milton Keynes. Manage and lead on the design and delivery of corporate graphics activity through the effective use of Adobe Creative Suite and other industry standard design software, to develop imagery that is designed and aligned to Network Rail\'s communications strategy.

Visual strategy shaper: Collaborate with our Communications function leadership team to influence the visual style and strategy of graphic design throughout Network Rail.

Design for all formats: Take charge of all aspects of graphic design, preparing files for various distribution channels including the web, social media, digital signage, mobile, and print.

Creative: Use your creativity to produce stunning graphic designs of outstanding quality, all while meeting agreed-upon deadlines.

Structured manager: Manage all graphic design activities in an organised and transparent manner. You\'ll work closely with business managers across Network Rail and the Communications teams to ensure graphics are delivered on time and within budget.

Guidelines expert: Familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines, ensuring a consistent tone, style, accessibility, and design across all of Network Rail\'s graphic design productions.

Supplier Whisperer: Oversee external suppliers involved in graphic design projects. You\'ll help select the right partners, establish effective working relationships, and handle day-to-day communications. If issues arise, you\'ll tackle them head-on, from changes in scope to invoicing and quality control.

Process Improvement Advocate: Contribute to the enhancement of graphic design production management processes, procedures, and operational rules. Our goal is to deliver exceptional graphic designs and build a highly respected Digital Content team.

Industry Benchmarking Enthusiast: Continuously compare our work and processes with industry benchmarks in the design world. We\'re committed to staying at the forefront of graphic design excellence.

What essential skills and experiences are required?

Proven experience: We need someone who has already worked in a similar role and can show us what they\'ve achieved.

Great designer: You should be a graphic design expert with extensive experience using design software, especially Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

Expert: We\'re looking for someone with deep knowledge of professional graphic design practices and processes. You should know how to create designs for various channels and mediums.

Traditional artist: Your traditional art skills should be excellent.

Composition master: You should have a knack for creating great compositions.

Typography: Your typographic and composition skills should be top-notch.

Communication pro: Great communication and presentation skills are a must.

Tech-savvy: You should also have excellent IT skills.
