Establish and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders across education and industry to enhance the opportunities, to deliver a joined up, innovative and sustainable solutions to delivering the Net Zero plan.
To plan, manage and evaluate key findings and make suitable recommendations to meet the needs of education and industry.
To contribute to initiatives across the Inspiring Skills project to ensure net-zero is actively embedded in to the varying provisions on offer
INTRODUCTION
The College manages, on behalf of the Welsh Government, the "Inspiring Skills Excellence in Wales" project in collaboration with the Skills Ambassador Network - a dedicated network of colleges, work-based learning providers and employer-led organisations.
As the contract holder, the college wishes to appoint a Net Zero / Green Skills Coordinator to support the projects ambitious aim of supporting the Welsh Government's Net Zero plan.
The Net Zero / Green Skills Coordinator will be responsible for managing all aspects of the designated outcomes, which will provide a coordinated approach to Net Zero and Green skills for a range of stakeholders. It will be focused on reviewing the skills offer across the college network to work towards achieving net-zero emissions and promoting sustainable practices across Wales.
This role involves developing and implementing strategic plans, overseeing future developments, coordinating regional engagement plans, and ensuring the overall success of the project.
As Net Zero / Green Skills Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing our initiatives focused on equipping learners, employers and other stakeholders with the necessary skills and knowledge for a sustainable and net carbon zero future. The ability to inspire, motivate and influence others are key skills required for this role. Working across Wales in partnerships with education and training, the role will require the successful applicant to be a role model for others to follow, whilst maintaining the highest possible standards, working positively and professionally with honesty and transparency. The post will involve extensive travel across Wales, requiring flexibility in working hours and will lead to working with a range of stakeholders.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Essential Criteria:
Extensive experience in the field of further education
Strong knowledge and understanding of the economy and skills
Strong knowledge and understanding of sustainability and green skills
Analysis of data or interpreting data
Written skills/communication skills
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a range of stakeholders.
Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
A commitment to creating a greener future
Commitment to an understanding of Further Education, Higher Education, 14-19 provisions and Work Based Learning
