A Greengrocery Kitchen Hand is an essential member of any food service team. The role involves a variety of duties and responsibilities. Time keeping is crucial.

The primary responsibility of a Greengrocery Kitchen Hand is to assist in the preparation of fresh vegetables and fruit by performing tasks such as: Peeling, Pre washing, Cutting and Packing.

Part of the work involves dishwashing and cleaning of the utensils and equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



Maintaining kitchen cleanliness



The Kitchen Hand is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, ensuring that it is always in compliance with food safety regulations. This includes cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces, equipment, and utensils, disposing of waste, and organizing supplies.

Greengrocery preparation



Kitchen Hands are involved in preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruit.

As a kitchen hand, you will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The following skills and abilities are essential:

You'll need to be meticulous about your work. The job can be physically demanding, so you need to be fit and able to work on your feet for long hours. Being able to communicate effectively is essential. You'll need to work well as part of a team and be able to take direction from others. You must be able to adapt to changing circumstances and be willing to take on different tasks and roles as needed.

Physical Requirements



Working in a kitchen can be physically demanding, so you should be prepared for the physical demands of this job:

Standing for extended periods Carrying heavy loads Dealing with sharp objects (such as knives and graters)
A successful kitchen hand should possess excellent attention to detail, physical stamina, good communication skills, and be a team player. On-the-job training is provided. Candidates who hold food safety training certifications are ideal for this position though not essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
