individual who even loves to work in the cold, the wet, and, sometimes, in the glorious Pembrokeshire sunshine.
Pandering to some very spoilt, but rather nice, horses and donkeys. The yard is a prestigious show production yard with over 30 animals winning at HOYS or RI over the past few years. The ideallic yard is within 100 acres of pastural and woodland. Concrete yard so no mud!
It can be hard work, particularly in the bad weather days, but comes with the reward of working and learning in one of Wales best yards. This is
manual work.
There is no riding but there may be riding opportunities and positions for applicants with proven talent and qualifications. There is nowhere better to work in the warmer months and applicants with riding qualifications may be allowed to do so depending on qualification and assessment.
Applicants must live locally, be able to drive to work and be able to work in the UK. This is not a farming position. There is
no accommodation currently with this position.
Applicants will be expected to work with other staff on a variable work roster that will include Weekends and occasional public holidays (where days will be returned in lieu). Working on the yard requires efficient working, thoughtful application of time and a willingness to not only work with horses but possibly other yard animals such as pigs, alpacas, dogs and emus. Yes, a mixed bunch of animals await you.
Previous Yard experience is essential
, although this might suit a previous agricultural worker if they are prepared to learn and have handled large animals. Any equine qualifications such as BHS is desirable. Training will be provided if applicant shows willingness to learn and work hard. This is not a job for people who like drinking coffee around a desk in a warm office. It is working with large animals, requires physical effort and is non stop. Animals do not work 9 - 5 and require care every day of the year.
If this job description suits you, then you may be the type of person we are looking for. If we feel you have potential we will invite you in to prove yourself. Career pathway for the right applicant awaiting. Part time or full time hours from 16 hours/week available on variable roster ideally suited to self employed workers looking for additional hours.
CVs via email please. Generic CVs or Resumes
