The Ground Instructor will play a key role in inspiring learners, ensuring academic excellence, and supporting Saxon Air's educational and social impact objectives. THE ROLE & CANDIDATE
Saxon Air is looking for a Ground Instructor to join its established and growing Flight Training Team. The best candidate will have the following essential qualifications / attributes:
Specifics include:
Background in STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with strong subject knowledge in Maths and Physics.
Experience in delivering structured lessons or training sessions, ideally within an aviation, technical or educational setting.
Passion for aviation and awareness of aviation career pathways.
Strong communication and classroom management skills.
Competence in using modern digital tools and presentation software for blended learning delivery.
Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends during events or outreach weeks.
Enthusiastic and inspiring educator, with a learner-first mindset.
Organised and self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills.
A flexible team player with a strong work ethic and commitment to continuous improvement.
Willingness to contribute to the broader development of Saxon Air's training offer.
Essential Requirements:
Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, or Level 3 Award in Education and Training).
An interest in aviation.
Full driving license.
Desirable Qualifications:
CAA or EASA Ground Instructor approval (or willingness to obtain).
Previous experience in a GA flight school, aviation academy, or STEM outreach role.
Knowledge of the Skills Bootcamp funding model or experience delivering vocational/employability training

This is a full-time permanent role, based at Norwich Airport.
