We are recruiting Grounds Worker Operatives in the Newport, Cardiff and surrounding areas.

About us:

Davies Contractors Ltd is a privately-owned building and maintenance company based in Newport. We undertake all aspects of building work, from private builds to specialising in planned and responsive works for local authorities, housing associations, and commercial properties.

Purpose of the Job:

We are seeking multiple Grounds Worker Operatives in the Newport, Cardiff and surrounding areas to join our company. You will be responsible for delivering grounds maintenance services as part of our planned, reactive, and void property maintenance contracts.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

The successful candidates will be NVQ or City and Guilds qualified (or have equivalent experience), reliable, diplomatic, and proactive, with solid experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or similar roles.
Applicants should be comfortable working independently or as part of a team. A valid CSCS card (or willingness to obtain one) and a full UK driving licence are required.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out grounds maintenance including grass cutting, hedge trimming, planting, weed control, litter removal, and general tidying of outdoor areas Maintain accurate records of work completed, including daily worksheets and materials used Operate machinery and tools safely and efficiently, ensuring maintenance and safe storage Adhere to Health and Safety procedures and technical standards at all times Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients and team members Ensure high-quality work is delivered consistently across all sites
