Role Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced

Ground Worker / General Labourer

to join our team. This role involves a mix of groundwork, general building, and site support duties across a variety of construction projects. The successful candidate will help prepare, build, and maintain sites to a high standard, working closely with other trades on-site.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and clear construction sites, including excavation, trenching, grading, and site set-up. Carry out groundwork such as laying foundations, driveways, patios, and hard landscaping. Assist with general building works including basic brickwork, blockwork, concrete works, and minor structural tasks. Install drainage systems, including pipes, manholes, and stormwater management solutions. Operate machinery such as diggers, dumpers, and loaders (where qualified). Support other trades on-site, including builders, carpenters, and subcontractors. Carry out general site duties including material handling, site maintenance, and clean-up. Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company standards and health & safety regulations.

Requirements

Proven experience in groundwork and/or general building within a construction environment. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic construction equipment. Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and site safety practices. Ability to read and follow site plans and instructions. Physically fit and capable of manual work in all weather conditions. Good communication skills and a strong team-working attitude. Full driving license.
