Due to exciting growth in our grounds maintenance division we are now seeking another Grounds maintenance Contract Manager to join our team.
You may already be a Contract Manager or Team Leader/Supervisor looking to make the next step in your career and have the energy, drive and commitment to progress rapidly and be part of this dynamic department.
You will be responsible for managing some of our grounds maintenance contracts in Cambridge and surrounding areas including business parks schools, multiple waste management sites and carrying out the defect period maintenance on landscape project installations.
You will have proven client relationship-building experience as well as a strong problem-solving record.
Key responsibilities will be:
Developing face-to-face relationships with clients including regular update meetings as well as positively handling any problems that may arise
Regularly visiting site to ensure work is being carried out to a high standard and safe methods of working are being adhered to; creating site audit reports
Line management of grounds maintenance employees/teams
Reporting back to the Management team on a regular basis and collaborating with other managers to share resources
Carrying out grounds maintenance when necessary
Assisting in recruitment and training staff including interviewing and inducting new staff
Project managing small to medium works including preparing RAMS and managing Health & Safety requirements
Preparing specifications, schedules of works, tender documentation and pricing for additional works for approval by Directors
It is important to note that occasionally you may be required to join in on the maintenance operations when the need arises. This will be an initial requirement upon starting the role; you will join the maintenance teams and carry out the maintenance on all of the sites you will be responsible for so that you fully understand what is required of the team working on site.
Team work and collaboration are key components of GLM Company ethos and it is expected that all managers assist the wider team where required including, but not limited to:
- Helping dispatch teams from the yard in the morning
- Assisting with vehicle and machinery repairs and movement
- Troubleshooting
You will be provided with a Company vehicle and fuel card, laptop and mobile phone. Approximate working hours will be 06:45 to 16:45, Monday to Friday. Some days you will travel direct to site and others will be spent at our Head Office in Welney, PE14 9RQ.
