Job Description

We are looking for a Grounds Maintenance Lead on an 8 month FTC finishing March 31st 2026, to assist the Operational Trade Supervisor (Grounds Maintenance) to manage and develop a flexible, multi-skilled team to ensure that key performance indicators (KPIs), such as customer satisfaction and grounds maintenance priorities are achieved, works orders are closed down within agreed timescales and works completed within agreed budgets

What you'll be doing



Support the Operational Trade Supervisor (Grounds Maintenance) with resource planning and management for the team to ensure right first time completion of jobs and that all health and safety is complied with in line with CHP's Health and Safety framework and statutory requirements. Act as the first point of contact for the grounds maintenance team to resolve technical queries and work issues. Identify opportunities for improving service delivery to CHP properties/communal areas and team processes to continuously improve performance and drive value for money (VfM). Effectively respond to customer enquiries and support the Operational Trade Supervisor (Grounds Maintenance) to investigate, review and respond to complaints and customer feedback in line with the relevant policy. Lead by example to reinforce positive behaviours within Operations teams and with suppliers and contractors, challenging inappropriate behaviour. Act as cover for the Operational Trade Supervisor (Grounds Maintenance) when required.

What we are looking for



Full, current manual driving licence. Good knowledge of grounds maintenance, plant/shrub identification and arboriculture. Knowledge of methods, materials, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment used in grounds maintenance activities including mowing, edging, trimming, and weed and pest control. Good knowledge of IT systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel and prior use, or understanding of, mobile PDA devices. Ability to manage own time and to respond effectively under pressure and be a critical thinker and an active learner. Self-motivation with the ability to use own initiative to organise work to ensure delivery of efficient service whilst working safely at all times, whilst also having strong communication skills with the ability to be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of customers.
