About the Role





We are now looking to recruit a capable and effective leader to be responsible for the effective management of in-house environmental services teams and contracted services across an Onward region, ensuring high levels of quality, customer satisfaction and other performance targets.


Key Responsibilities




Line Management and Leadership


Provide line management to an Environmental Services team, acting as a point of escalation, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure organisational and team objectives are achieved.

Resources


Manage internal resources and budgets effectively and efficiently to deliver agreed performance targets and high levels of customer satisfaction. Promote and lead a best-in-class Environmental Services team. Drive culture change across the organisation based on our values.

Health and Safety


Ensure safe methods of work are adopted and all colleagues are suitably qualified and trained to deliver the work required. Ensure records are available for monitoring compliance.

Contract Management


Monitor and manage performance of external contractors. Produce KPIs and audits. Chair contractor management meetings and ensure specification and standards are maintained.

Customer Service


Work with the Customer Service Team and other internal service areas to deliver a collaborative customer service approach. Review performance information and regularly assess operations with customer service improvements in mind. Oversee the handling of enquiries and complaints within EST, being the point of escalation as required.

Data Management


Ensure information is up to date relating to environmental services contracts, compliance, and risks. Support the development of appropriate data management systems by accurately recording all standards and inspection regimes.

Performance Measurement


Deliver in-house services to the agreed standards of productivity, safety and quality with a commercial focus to budget costs. Produce management information and reports on all aspects of environmental services.

Partnership Working


Identify, build and develop an extensive network of internal and external partnerships to deliver environmental service objectives successfully in the region. Be an ambassador for the organisation and an advocate for customers.






Essential Requirements




Knowledge and experience of service contracts and their effective management and administration Good commercial understanding of value for money and budget management Knowledge of best practice in environmental services including Grounds Maintenance Track record of working under pressure, meeting deadlines and hitting KPIs in a customer-facing role Experience of thriving in a team context, maintaining excellent relationships Ability to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and external organisations Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities Professional and flexible approach IT Skills - Microsoft Office

Desirable Requirements




Experience of Environmental service provision in the housing sector Experience of partnership working with external agencies Experience of managing large dispersed direct labour teams A working knowledge of Horticulture

Qualifications




Essential:




Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent qualification/experience

Desirable:




ILM management qualification or similar Level 3 qualification or above in Horticulture or similar
