Grounds Maintenance Team Leader

Location: Kislingbury, Northampton

Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent with Progression Plan

Overview

We have a wonderful opportunity for someone hardworking and career-minded to join our growing company as a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader. If you're passionate about horticulture and take pride in maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces, then this role is for you. Prepared for early starts and ready to work in all weather conditions, you'll be expected to roll up your sleeves and play a key part in our team. A can-do attitude is essential!

Key Responsibilities

Grounds Maintenance:

- Lead a team to perform grass cutting, hedge cutting, sports line-marking, border maintenance, winter gritting, and leaf clearance.

- Use hand tools and powered horticultural machinery (including ride-on mowers, hedge cutters, and brush cutters) to maintain all sites and external areas to an exceptional standard.

- Conduct general maintenance tasks such as debris clearance and seasonal clean-ups.

- Ensure that all work is carried out safely and to the highest quality, meeting both company and customer expectations.

- Team Collaboration:

- Work closely with a dedicated team across multiple sites.

- Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.

- Health & Safety:

- Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

- Complete an Enhanced DBS check as required.

Standard Working Pattern

(alternative roster my be available through discussion)

Rotating roster with an average of 5 working days in a 7-day cycle.

Week A: Monday - Saturday (Sunday & Monday Off)

Week B: Tuesday - Friday (Saturday & Sunday Off)

Early 6 am Starts in the summer.

What We're Looking For:

Experience & Qualifications:

- A minimum of 2 years' experience in grounds maintenance or a related field.

- A genuine passion for horticulture and working outdoors.

- PA1 & PA6 spraying license (preferred, but not essential).

- Ability to complete manual work, including lifting, digging, and moving objects.

- Prepared to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.

- Personal Qualities:

- Trustworthy, practical, self-motivated, and hard-working.

- A strong team player with excellent communication skills.

- Happy to work across multiple sites and eager to embrace leadership opportunities in the future.
