Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our Nursery and Pre-School team as a Groundskeeper and Caretaker. This role involves a variety of tasks related to external and internal upkeep.
The ideal candidate will possess a smart outward appearance, have a friendly & polite personality, be proficient in tidying and keeping the inside and outside of our nursery neat and tidy.

For external jobs, they would benefit from knowledge and be proficient in the use of small garden hand tools for light weeding (training can be provided) including strimming, sweeping pathways and courtyard areas, removing unwanted rubbish & weeds, maintaining and improving our outside areas.

For internal jobs, we have general housekeeping, including cleaning & tidying areas, plus light DIY jobs, maintaining and improving our inside areas.

As we are a childcare setting, the successful candidate will have a DBS check carried out before commencement of work.

Responsibilities & Experience

Perform garden maintenance tasks, we have a monthly visit from a gardener for our lawns however we require occasional strimming and leaf removal and general everyday overseeing tidying/ rubbish collection of all outside areas. Conduct regular internal checks within the building and liaise with the Management Team on DIY jobs, arrange materials and carry out tasks. Conduct regular internal checks within all areas of the building - maintain, tidy and clean reception areas & walkways, performing deep cleaning of areas where needed and be able to assess, plan and carry out all cleaning tasks to maintain our high standards of cleanliness throughout the building. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently as well as part of a team in our busy child-lead environment. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.30-12.80 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
