Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Groundskeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in landscape maintenance and horticulture, with the ability to operate various hand and power tools. This role involves maintaining the aesthetic and functional aspects of outdoor spaces, ensuring that all areas are well-kept and safe for use. This is a new role and the successful candidate will be instrumental in the progression of the role.

Responsibilities

Perform regular landscape maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and planting. Operate mechanical equipment and power tools for various tasks. Conduct checks and repairs to council land and assets. Carry out general maintenance duties to uphold the quality of outdoor facilities. Assist in construction projects related to landscaping and gardening. Utilise hand tools effectively for various gardening tasks. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all equipment is stored properly. Work collaboratively with team members to achieve landscaping goals.

Requirements

Proven experience in landscape maintenance or horticulture is desirable. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to landscaping tasks. Familiarity with general maintenance is advantageous. A solid understanding of gardening techniques and principles. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of work. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
