Groundwork Apprentice

Are you looking to kick start your career in construction? A role where you'll gain hands-on experience, develop your skills, and build your knowledge on live construction sites?

We are offering a fantastic opportunity for mature and hardworking individuals to join our production teams across the country as Groundwork Apprentices. The Groundwork Apprenticeship is a combination of site-based work and college training - you'll gain practical experience working on live construction sites, whilst developing your skills and knowledge at college.

This role provides the opportunity to develop skills in a valuable and in-demand trade whilst working in a supportive, hands-on environment.

Site based work:

As a Groundwork Apprentice, you'll be involved in the early stages of construction projects.

Key activities will include:

Foundations, earthworks, and concreting Traditional drainage, pipe laying, and manhole channelling Roadworks, kerbing, paving, and tarmac laying Utility ducting, steel fixing, and piling Use of plant machinery
You will work alongside highly skilled and experienced construction professionals, who will guide and support you as you develop your knowledge and skills on site.

College Training:

As part of your Apprenticeship, you will attend regular college-based training sessions at one of the following colleges:

NHBC Training Hub Cambridge NHBC Training Hub Lichfield NHBC Training Hub Hull Salutem College Telford College Milton Keynes College Preston College Salford College
All colleges offer a dynamic and supportive learning environment, where you will develop your theoretical knowledge and enhance your practical skills.

Over 12-18 months, you'll work towards and achieve your Groundworker Level 2 qualification.

Requirements:

5 GCSEs at grade 4 and above, including Maths and English Excellent work ethic and positive attitude Motivated, willing to learn, flexible and resilient

Health and Safety:

In order to work on site, you will be required to sit a health and safety operative test, to gain your CSCS card. This will be organised and funded by MV Kelly.

No previous experience is required!
