Summary
We are seeking a commercially minded and dynamic Accountant with at least 5 years practicing experience to join our team at Western Fuel. Due to the expansion and growing diversity of the business the decision has been taken to bring the role in-house rather than as previously outsourced. This job is crucial for managing our financial operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting whilst working directly with the shareholders of the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our mission to exceed customer expectations through effective financial management whilst supporting the companies strategic development of growth
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain financial statements and reports in compliance with accounting standards for each of the group companies
Produce Monthly P&L and balance sheets along year end accounts for submission to auditors
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
Utilize Sage accounting software in conjunction with industry specific software.
Submit monthly VAT Returns
Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank statements and financial accounts.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities to support business planning.
Provide management and support to the team of 4 finance staff and assist with their professional development.
Collaborate with management to analyse financial performance and recommend improvements.
Requirements
Proven experience as an Accountant or similar role in a financial environment for at least 5 years.
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software, Sage is preferred.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
Strong communication skills for interaction with team members and stakeholders.
