Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a hands-on analytical Group Accountant to:

Oversee the Group's monthly close, with a particular focus on analysing and understanding the main components of the Group balance sheet and then partnering with the relevant teams across finance to drive improvements and strengthen control Realise the benefits of the Group's recently implemented OneStream application by leading improvement in the close process Partner with the Group's business units in the UK, Germany, Netherlands and Spain on activities including month end close, submissions to support the Group's external reporting requirements, acquisition integration and statutory accounts.

What will you be doing day-to-day?

Overseeing the Group's month end close including the quality of the monthly reporting in OneStream and effective operation of the relevant controls Analysing the Group's balance sheet and cash flow with a specific focus on understanding and challenging the main components of the balance sheet to ensure that they are accounted for correctly and consistently. Working with the Group FP&A and Treasury teams to understand how the balance sheet drives working capital movements and cash conversion to identify trends which will impact Half Year and Full Year externally reported KPIs Preparing Group balance sheet and cash flow commentary for monthly Board reporting pack Identifying and implementing process improvement to maximise the benefits of the Group's recently implemented OneStream application and deliver a more efficient, consistent, accurate and timely close Partnering with the UK, German and Dutch financial controllers on the delivery of the monthly results, consistency with Group accounting requirements, including lease accounting and capitalised development costs, and statutory accounting requirements Supporting the Group Financial Reporting Manager to produce the Group's external reporting, including the Annual Report and Accounts and the Interim Financial Statements, in line with UK listed company requirements with specific responsibility for cashflow, balance sheet, segmental reporting, employee, PPE and working capital disclosures and associated audit enquiries. Overseeing the integration of acquired businesses into the Group's monthly close process and supporting acquired business in aligning to the Group's accounting requirements.

What You'll Need

Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA), ideally with a practice background in a top 6 firm, and at least two years post qualified experience Excellent analytical skills Strong interpersonal skills with ability to business partner Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously with high quality results Proactive approach to self-development Desire to continuously improve areas of responsibility Experience of IFRS Experience in the preparation of listed Group financial statements an advantage. Strong Excel skills Knowledge of OneStream and Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be helpful but not essential.
