Group Accountant (stock Control)

Job Description

To oversee and manage the financial aspects of stock and inventory, ensuring accurate valuation, control, and reporting in line with company policies and accounting standards. Drive efficient stock management to optimise working capital and support the organisations goals.
Oversee the end-to-end financial control of stock valuations and inventory for the Finance Department
Ensure accurate and timely stock reconciliation between financial records and physical stock counts.
Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and operations teams to maintain effective inventory controls and minimise stock discrepancies.
Analyse stock movements / Transactions to identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and recommend appropriate actions.
There is elements of Finance Business Partnering
Prepare and review stock-related financial reports, forecasts, and budgets - Supporting the Finance Director
Lead month-end and year-end stock accounting processes, including impairment reviews and stock adjustments.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and relevant regulatory standards related to stock management.
Support ERP system integration or enhancements related to stock finance modules.
Train and manage finance team members involved in stock accounting.

  • This opportunity with suit a confident communicator with ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders from various divisions of the organisation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional Qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred. (Studier)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial controlling, management Accounting with exposure to stock/inventory accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of stock valuation principles, inventory control, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems. Very confident Excel user.
