, offering a full range of company formation, trust administration, and corporate management services to UK and international clients. Our organisation includes both a regulated trust and corporate services business and an in-house accountancy function serving our associated entities.

We now seek a highly experienced

Group Chief Accountant

to lead our accounting operations -- encompassing both the external practice work for client structures and the internal financial management of the group.

The Opportunity



This is a senior and pivotal role within our organisation. The Group Chief Accountant will be responsible for ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and operational efficiency across our client accounting and internal finance teams. You will work closely with the Directors and compliance leadership to support the continued professionalisation and growth of the firm.

Key Responsibilities



1. Practice & Client Accounting Management



Lead and manage a small accountancy practice providing services to client companies, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals. Oversee preparation of statutory accounts, management accounts, VAT returns, and corporation tax filings for client entities. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK GAAP, Companies Act requirements, and HMRC regulations. Ensure compliance with

HMRC, Companies House, and FCA/AML obligations

relevant to accounting within trust and corporate services. Manage client relationships with professionalism and discretion, ensuring confidentiality and quality of service. Supervise, train, and review the work of accounting staff to maintain high professional standards. Contribute to process improvements, digitalisation, and integration with trust and corporate management systems.

2. In-House Accounting & Financial Control



Oversee all in-house financial management activities for the TCSP and its related companies. Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and variance analysis. Manage payroll, credit control, reconciliations, and internal reporting. Liaise with external auditors, tax advisers, and banks. Support the directors in strategic financial planning, including cost control and revenue optimisation. Ensure the firm's own statutory and regulatory filings are accurate and timely.

3. Leadership, Strategy & Compliance



Lead and develop a small, high-performing team of accountants and accounts assistants. Work closely with compliance personnel to ensure accounting records support AML, KYC, and fiduciary oversight obligations. Participate in board-level discussions relating to financial performance, risk, and operational planning. Ensure appropriate segregation between client and firm funds, maintaining strict adherence to trust accounting principles. Develop and maintain robust internal controls and systems in line with TCSP regulatory standards.

Skills & Experience



Fully qualified

ACA or ACCA

(essential). Substantial post-qualification experience in

practice and/or trust/company services

. Excellent technical knowledge of

UK GAAP

,

corporation tax

,

VAT

, and

trust accounting

principles. Familiarity with

TCSP compliance frameworks

(FCA, HMRC Supervision, or similar) desirable. Experienced in managing client accounts and team workflow within a small practice or fiduciary environment. Strong communication skills and professional integrity. Proficiency in modern cloud-based accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and document management systems. Proven leadership ability with an eye for detail and process improvement.
