Group Content / Proposals Writer

Watford, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

ABOUT ES BROADCAST

ES Broadcast is a leading provider of equipment sales, equipment rental and systems integration services to the professional broadcast industry as well as live events, esports, corporate and government sectors. The company is part of the ES Media Group which also includes divisions in cinema equipment rental (Film Store Rental) and library migration and content services Memnon. The Group Content / Proposals Writer will play a key role in creating content for multiple businesses under the ES Media Group.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Group Content / Proposals Writer is responsible for producing high-quality, engaging, and industry-relevant written content across multiple business divisions. This role involves crafting compelling content for different sectors, ensuring consistency and compliance in brand guidelines and messaging, while tailoring content to meet the unique needs of each business.

The Company is bidding to win businesses in markets and with clients that require a formal tender process to be followed when awarding contracts. To that end, we have established a formal Proposals team responsible for preparing tender responses in line with the stipulated conditions set out in the tender documentation.

Working under instruction from the Group COO the Group Content / Proposals Writer is responsible for preparing all non-technical elements of systems integration proposals and tender responses. This includes writing non-technical content and selecting appropriate, pre-existing content from a library of templates; as well as laying out, proof-reading, and collating all response documents.

While the Group Content / Proposals Writer works primarily within the Systems Proposals team, they also have close working relationships with other business divisions teams and may be called upon to perform wider marketing tasks according to available capacity.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

You will have significant experience (at least three years) of preparing responses to tender and proposal opportunities, especially for organisations such as public and governmental bodies that are obliged to follow formal tender processes when procuring goods and services. Above all, you must possess exemplary writing skills and be adept at constructing comprehensive responses in the formal tone required for these kinds of proposals; while also adhering to the Company's corporate communication style. Meticulous attention to detail combined with excellent spelling, grammar and proof-reading skills are essential. While it is not necessary to have technical knowledge or experience within the broadcasting industry, the ideal candidate should be able to grasp complex technical concepts quickly and identify any amendments required in technical elements of a response.

You will be able to interpret detailed, prescriptive proposal briefs and instructions, enabling you to identify all mandatory elements of a response, so that you can review all documents for compliance with the requirements of the tender. You will need to be highly organised and skilled in time management as it is not unusual for the proposals team to be working on several responses concurrently. You should be capable of working with style sheets, templates in MS Word, and of collating all elements of a response using Adobe Acrobat Pro and PowerPoint.

Your experience need not be directly related to procurement tenders: we will be happy to consider applicants who have worked in similar roles, such as writing grant applications, who can demonstrate an ability to prepare comprehensive, compliant proposals that clearly set out the Company's credentials and suitability to be awarded a tender in a manner that adheres to brand guidelines and written styles.
