OPPORTUNITY
This newly created
Group Controls Accountant
role offers a rare opportunity to shape and influence the group control environment from day one. Working across finance, audit, and operations, you'll support the design and implementation of effective, scalable controls and ensure continuous improvement across all entities. Responsibilities include:
Develop, implement, and enhance internal financial controls across the group
Partner with internal audit and divisional teams to identify risk areas and drive remediation plans
Contribute to the delivery of a group-wide controls framework (SOX-lite or equivalent)
Create clear, practical documentation and reporting for control activities
Assist in governance, compliance and audit committee reporting
Act as a key liaison between group finance and operational teams on all controls matters
Support accounting policy updates, risk reviews, and finance transformation initiatives
Drive education and awareness of financial control best practice across the group
PERSON
This role is ideal for someone looking to transition from practice into a listed environment with broad exposure, tangible impact, and genuine development potential. You'll be intellectually curious, highly organised, and comfortable working with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Ideally, you will have:
ACA qualified, ideally from a Top 10 firm
Strong understanding of financial controls, internal audit principles, and risk frameworks
Exposure to large or listed clients - SOX or internal control experience highly desirable
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; confident engaging across teams
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive in driving continuous improvement
Ambitious and eager to learn, with a long-term view on career development in industry
