About the Role

Are you a proactive finance professional with experience of debt management and building strong relationships? Dick Lovett have an opportunity to join our Finance team, either based in Bristol or Swindon, for a Group Credit Controller.


We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills who can build rapport with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve goals.


You'll take ownership of credit control across multiple sites, ensuring timely recovery of debts, managing risk exposure, and providing actionable insights to senior leadership. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in strengthening cash flow, building strong relationships across the group, and driving continuous improvement in credit management processes.

Job Opportunity

Recover outstanding credit account debts across the Group. Proactively ensure correct paperwork is uploaded to support invoicing Actively manage insurance-related debts. Evaluate new credit requests, review credit ratings via agencies, and recommend credit limits. Provide weekly updates to Senior Management on debt risks and liabilities. Partner with accounts teams to ensure site-level accountability for outstanding debts. Investigate and analyse root causes of delayed payments. Build and maintain external client relationships to understand payment behaviours. Update the finance system with comments as to progress of activity related to debts Resolve internal and external queries related to payments in a timely manner. Provide ad-hoc support to the financial accounts team when required.

Essential Skills

Proven experience in credit control or debt management, ideally in a multi-site or group environment. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal teams and external clients. Confident using credit search agencies and interpreting credit ratings. Ability to work proactively, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines. Experience of using Excel and accounting systems at a competent level. * A full, UK Driving Licence is essential for this role as some travel between sites is required.
