Job Description

Ipeco Holdings Limited was founded in 1960. More than 50 years on it is still a privately owned UK company. We are engaged in the design, development, manufacture and test of niche products for the aerospace and defence industries. Principal products include aircraft crew seating, executive passenger seating, galley inserts, salt bath brazed chassis and electronic power management systems.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:



Primary responsibility for managing the operation and maintenance of Ipeco's buildings and facilities to ensure safe, efficient and clean working environments.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:



Provide strategic oversight of all facilities activities across the Group, in line with Company needs, Policies / Procedures and regulatory standards, Manage the installation, maintenance, repair, and upgrading of building systems such as heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, lighting, fire safety, security alarms and cameras, Ensure that building infrastructure is secure, kept clean and maintained in good condition meeting health, safety, and environmental standards, Implement and manage sustainable practices for energy efficiency, waste reduction and green building standards, Develop and implement preventative maintenance programmes to minimise downtime and reduce operational costs, Plan and coordinate relocations, reconfigurations, and remodelling projects, Negotiate and manage service contracts for cleaning, waste disposal, security, and other facility-related services, Appoint, coordinate and supervise contractors, vendors, and service providers for maintenance and repair services, Conduct routine inspections of all facilities to identify maintenance needs or potential safety hazards, Manage facility emergencies and other work outside of regular working hours, Ensure resources are appropriately organised in support of the above, and lead and mentor the Facilities Team ensuring high levels of performance and productivity, Ensure that the Facilities Team understand performance expectations and that these are supported by relevant job descriptions, training plans and employee performance appraisal, Ensure that the Facilities Team are provided with information on departmental and Company performance and future plans, Manage the departmental budget, ensuring expenditures are within the authorised annual budget, Ensure that the function has appropriate systems to enable it to conduct its activities both lawfully and ethically, Ensure that the Facilities Team maintains high standards of corporate citizenship and social responsibility wherever it does business, Ensure that the Chief Executive is properly informed about facilities matters and that sufficient information is provided to allow them to form appropriate judgements, Abide by specific internally established control systems and authorities, to lead by personal example and encourage all employees to conduct their activities in accordance with all applicable laws and the Company's Standards, Policies and Procedures, To have a duty of care to yourself and others regarding Health and Safety matters and to ensure all Company Health and Safety Policies and Procedures are implemented, To ensure all Company rules and regulations are met, and To carry out any other tasks where reasonable and relevant, when required.

QUALIFICATIONS:



GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at grade C or above (Essential) Willingness to undertake further professional qualifications and training, as required. (Essential) Degree in Facilities Management, Building Services, or a related discipline Professional certifications such as IWFM (Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management) (Desirable) Health and Safety qualifications such as IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (Desirable) Technical certifications such as Legionella Control and Fire Safety (Desirable) Familiarity with UK statutory building compliance (Desirable)

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:



Strong interest in facilities and property management Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organisational and time management skills Resilient and able to manage changing priorities Basic understanding of building maintenance or facilities support Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines Working knowledge of business software, including Microsoft Office Full UK driving license

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:



Experience in operational oversight, including management of building maintenance, security, cleaning, or IT support contracts Experience or exposure to project coordination or management (e.g., refurbishments, office moves and / or renovations) Familiarity with handling service contracts, negotiating with vendors, and managing costs Knowledge of health and safety standards and how they apply to facilities management People management experience, including supervising staff or contractors
