Role Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Group Finance Manager to oversee end-to-end finance operations and offer strategic insight supporting commercial and operational decision-making. This is a pivotal role suited to a hands-on professional looking to lead finance for a growing contracting business.

Key Responsibilities

Drive the full finance cycle: AR/AP, payroll, VAT returns, bank reconciliations and statutory reporting. Prepare monthly/quarterly management accounts, with insightful variance and trend analysis. Lead budgeting and forecasting, including cash flow projections linked to project schedules. Oversee project-level costing and invoice management to support contract profitability and cash flow. Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with Companies House, HMRC and audit standards. Collaborate with external advisors (auditors, tax advisors, banks). Support strategic business planning through financial modelling and KPI reporting. Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and financial transparency.

Candidate Profile

Fully qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with post-qualified experience. Proven track record as a Finance Manager within construction, M&E contracting, or SME sectors. Solid understanding of UK accounting standards, VAT rules and contract?based financial operations. Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting systems (e.g. Sage). Strong communicator, capable of presenting complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Strategic thinker with attention to detail and ability to work in a lean, performance-driven environment.

What We Offer

Salary from 50,000 to 65,000 p/a, depending on experience. Flexible working pattern, with presence required at our Ringwood base.
