Job Description

What you'll be doing?




Supporting the business and our divisional offices, our Head Office functions cover all departments from our Executive Board through to our support functions such as Group Design and Technical, HR, Health and Safety, IT, Sales and Marketing, Commercial, Procurement, Group Finance, Corporate Affairs, as well as Legal and Company Secretariat. We also have a specialised function - Barratt Partnerships.

While the work varies from team to team, our key requirements don't: you must be well organised, extremely helpful and resourceful, and able to use your initiative. You'll understand that what you do is important, and impacts on your team, the department, and the wider business.
Reporting to the Senior Group Finance Systems Manager, you will provide leadership in order to deliver high quality projects across the COINS application. You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of system and process changes and for providing expertise on solution design and architecture. You will also be responsible for ensuring that technical support is provided for live incidents within the COINS Application.



You will:



To lead on the delivery of projects relating to the COINS application. You will be responsible for ensuring that the finance requirements of the business are met, whilst providing advice and challenge in order to be able to deliver high quality solutions. Oversee the production of technical design specifications and documentation. Ensure that new and existing processes meet business requirements and controls. Evaluate, manage and communicate risk assessments pertaining to new functionality, enhancements and issue resolution. Review technical administrative documentation. Ensure industry best practices are adopted and adhered to when designing and implementing new functionality. Manage the relationship with the software provider in relation to issue resolutions. Work closely with Finance Systems Assurance Manager to ensure that system integrity is maintained with the delivery of new projects and issue resolutions. Ensure all testing requirements are met in relation to system changes. Responsible for managing and developing the COINS Project team. Ensure that a high standard of technical support is provided to the Systems Support team and the business.

What you'll need?




To be successful in the role, we are looking for:
Experienced in leading a team in a fast paced environment Experience of delivering COINS Finance Systems improvements (minimum of 3 years required) High level understanding of the COINS application Experience in assessing and managing risk and ensuring the relevant controls are applied Experience in maintaining good governance in respect to system changes A good understanding of accounting principles and procedures Strong understanding of IT terms and concepts Part qualified/qualified accountant or equivalent practical experience Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the business Pragmatic problem solver Customer focused Focused on quality Experience in project delivery is essential Have a high degree of integrity Have a high degree of commercial awareness
