We are seeking a Group Financial Accountant to ensure the accuracy and compliance of our financial statements under IFRS and PRC GAAP. The successful candidate will prepare financial reports, provide expert advice on complex accounting issues, and support consolidation-level reporting activities. This role involves analyzing and presenting complex transactions to internal stakeholders, developing strong relationships with key partners, and driving process improvements in our reporting systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of IFRS and PRC GAAP, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities. This position offers an opportunity to significantly impact our financial reporting processes and contribute to strategic financial decisions.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities include, but are not limited to;
Ensuring compliance with IFRS in subsidiary reporting and PRC GAAP in consolidated group
Supporting analyses and discussions of accounting treatments and presentation for complex transactions
Supporting consolidation level monitoring and reporting activities for the monthly, quarterly and annual cycles
Assisting with documentation and support for external auditors
Support preparation of regular financial statements and reports (IFRS and PRC GAAP) that are accurate and consistently presented
Assemble reports including non-financial data and financial data.
Respond to ad hoc queries and requests from internal stakeholders and Syngenta's parent company.
Develop your network; interact with high level internal and external stakeholders developing strong relationships.
Build understanding of the applicability and impact of IFRS on the Syngenta business activities
Gain in-depth knowledge of the financial reporting systems
Drive continuous improvement in process efficiency and automation in reporting systems.
Qualifications
Qualifications and required experience
Educated to finance or related degree level or equivalent experience.
Accounting designation ACA or ACCA preferred.
Able to perform effectively under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
High attention to detail in accuracy of numbers and presentation.
Self-confident and decisive to manage issues and propose solutions.
Good planning and time management, but able to work flexibly and prioritise appropriately.
Strong team player in a multi-cultural environment, familiarity of working with remote teams and colleagues
