The Group Chief Accountant's Department (GCAD) is part of the Controller's department in Unilever Group. GCAD is Accountable for Unilever's external financial reporting and global financial controls, managing the global audit relationship with our external audit partner; determining and implementing Unilever's accounting policies; and many other projects related to how Unilever measures its performance and presents and communicates this to the external
world.
This Group Financial Accounting - Assistant Manager role reports to Group P&L Manager and is primarily responsible for preparation of tax and pension accounts.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of Tax and Pension accounts on quarterly basis
Analysis of the different elements of the Tax and Pension accounts to identify / understand any unusual movements and ensure that these are appropriately explained
Prepare the relevant parts of the quarterly press release as well as the Annual report and accounts,
Working with Investor relations to ensure that the statements and the numbers in the Press release are complete and accurate
Provide guidance and training to countries on the accounting policies and answering to accounting and reporting queries
Liaise with our internal auditors, external auditors (KPMG) and ensuring all Group control requirements are documented and complied as required
Prepare and delivering training for relevant areas of expertise
Help implementing the new reporting requirements on a timely basis as needed.
Other responsibilities include continuous system and process improvements and helping the line manager on ad-hoc projects as they arise.

Experience Required
o 3-4 years experience in finance function - preferably in reporting and accounting
o Experience in preparation of financial statements
o ICAEW/ACCA or a similar qualification
o Exposure to IFRS and tax/pension accounting
o SAP / BCS / AFO knowledge
