The Role
As a Group Head of Logistics, you\'ll have a role that\'s out of the ordinary. You will be integral to the success of the group supply chain strategy and will interface across key areas of the business working in a collaborative way to ensure Babcock leverages the benefits of combining the requirements of the group.

Day to day, you\'ll design and implement a cohesive warehousing and distribution strategy for the Group to develop capability and improve performance with respect to quality, delivery, reliability, process and cost; all the while assuming leadership of Babcock\'s logistics strategy and heavily support the principal logistics activity in the various businesses.

• Develop an agile logistics function, in conjunction with the supply chain team, in order to meet the changing demands of the business.
• Liaise effectively with various functional and business leaders to identify and fully satisfy requirements to meet customer expectations.
• Develop and be accountable for relevant business processes that manage supplier activities associated with new product developments, project realisation and service delivery.
• Define optimal warehouse footprint and distribution network through a mix of owned and outsourced assets.

Essential Experience of the Group Head of Logistics

• Proven experience of working in a large corporate environment in a mix of operational and commercial roles.
• Skilled in stakeholder management both internally and externally.
• Demonstrable capability in developing and implementing warehousing & distribution improvement strategies, including selection and implementation of IT systems.
• Experience negotiating preferable terms and identifying commercial and operational risks in 3rd party contracts (supported by group procurement).
• Experience in a successful fast moving and highly critical services business sector or in a manufacturing and engineering environment would be advantageous.

This is a full-time position that allows for you to be based across the UK but, you must be willing to travel to various sites.

Qualifications for the Group Head of Logistics

• Accreditation to the relevant professional institutes (i.e. CILT) is desirable but, not essential.
• Educated to degree level is advantageous but, not required.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
