We are looking for an experienced and dynamic
HR Manager
who is passionate about fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of HR best practices and employment law, coupled with a proven ability to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives that support organizational goals.
You will be a proactive problem solver with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships across all levels of the business. Your ability to balance the strategic aspects of HR with hands-on day-to-day responsibilities will be crucial in driving the continued success and growth of the Group. The role requires a confident and organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, ensuring compliance, managing recruitment, and implementing policies that align with the company's vision and values.
What you'll be responsible for:
As the
HR Manager
at Dauson Environmental Group, you will oversee all aspects of the HR function, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals. Your responsibilities will include:
Strategic Planning & Development
Develop, implement and maintain HR strategies that align with the companies' goals.
Introduce and implement HR policies in accordance with current legislation and best practice.
Recruitment and Onboarding
:
Leading the end-to-end recruitment process, including collaborating on job/person specs, job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and offer management.
Designing and assistance delivering an engaging onboarding experience to help new hires integrate successfully into the team.
Employee Relations
:
Acting as a trusted advisor to management and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
Managing employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievances, while maintaining confidentiality and fairness.
Policy Development and Compliance
:
Developing, implementing, and updating HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and best practices.
Ensuring adherence to UK employment laws and regulations, providing regular training and updates to the team.
Performance Management
:
Supporting managers in setting performance objectives, conducting appraisals, and creating development plans.
Oversee performance appraisals, employee development programmes, and training to enhance productivity and reduce turnover, especially in operational roles.
Training and Development
:
Identifying skill gaps and coordinating training programs to develop employee capabilities.
Supporting career development planning and succession planning efforts.
Maintain the group training matrix
HR Metrics and Reporting
:
Maintaining accurate employee records and producing regular HR reports on key metrics, such as turnover, headcount, and absences
Using data insights to inform decision-making and improve HR processes.
Workplace Culture and Engagement
:
Driving initiatives to enhance employee engagement, well-being, and a positive workplace culture.
Act as a culture ambassador, aligning behaviours with company values across all teams and departments
Collaborate with leadership to embed cultural goals into business operations and strategy
Health, Safety, and Well-being
:
Supporting workplace safety initiatives and ensuring employee well-being programs are in place.
Managing absence and leave processes, including sick leave and parental leave policies.
Managing occupational health processes, including co-ordinating referrals, liaising with external providers and supporting effective case management.
This role is pivotal in creating a thriving workplace where people feel valued and supported.
The Person - Essential
o CIPD qualifications (Level 5 or Level 7).
o In-depth understanding of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
o Strong knowledge of UK employment law and regulations.
o Experience in aligning HR strategy with organizational goals.
o Ability to analyse HR metrics and provide insights to drive business decisions.
o Experience with recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
o Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in policies, documentation, and processes.
o Competency with HR software and systems
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
o Ability to lead and managing HR teams and leading HR initiatives across departments.
Desirable
o Experience within the waste, environmental, industrial, or related sectors is advantageous.
o Experience in leading HR efforts during organizational change, such as mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring.
