The Group Insurance Manager plays a key role in protecting Kingfisher's people, assets and operations by shaping and managing effective insurance and risk solutions across the Group. By providing expert advice, insight and assurance, this role supports confident decision-making and long-term resilience. In doing so, it helps enable Kingfisher's purpose: Better Homes, Better Lives, For everyone. What's the job?:
Define and evolve the Group's insurance strategy with the Group Insurance Director and external partners, aligned to risk appetite and business needs.
Negotiate insurance terms with brokers and insurers in the UK and internationally to secure strong coverage at competitive cost.
Act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders and boards across all Banners, providing clear guidance on insurance and risk matters.
Advise the business on risk transfer and retention approaches, including support for new and emerging activities.
Work collaboratively across functions and geographies to influence operational, investment and contractual decisions, improving risk standards and reducing losses.
Analyse losses and claims data to provide timely, practical insights and ensure accurate calculation and recovery of large claims.
Lead the annual renewal process by collating exposure data, setting Banner budgets and allocating costs in line with transfer pricing requirements. What you'll bring:
Extensive experience across property and casualty insurance and wider corporate risks, including cyber and D&O.
Strong experience analysing data and translating complex issues into clear, actionable advice.
Proven ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders globally.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics.
A recognised professional qualification in insurance or risk management.
