About the role
We are looking for an experienced Group Leader to run our bi-weekly Sunday Activity Group for children with SEN.
You will be part of a small team responsible for delivering an exciting, energetic and age appropriate schedule of fun activities for a group of Children aged 5-11 years at our Esher scheme. This includes things such as messy play, baking, art and crafts, themed days and outings to farms, bowling and swimming etc.
Job Purpose
Working with the Deputy Group Leader to lead and managea team. You will assist in delivering a wide range of activities to children with learning disabilities. Ensuring a fun, stimulating and safe environment at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Children's Services Manager be responsible for the effective, efficient delivery and management of LinkAble's Sunday Group.
Ensure all paperwork for the session is completed and returned to the Services Manager, including registers, incident/accident forms and payments.
To provide guidance and support to all group staff when working with and supporting service users in sessions, including support with personal care, communication, mobility needs and behaviour.
Liaise with the Services Manager about pre-planning of activities and weekly timetables, considering the budget per session.
Ensure that the group operates within LinkAble's policy framework and reflects both the charity's mission statement and core values.
Ensure that all activities and off-site trips have been carefully planned and properly executed.
Supervise and coach all sessional workers and volunteers, ensuring that they are supported and aware of the charity's policies and reporting procedures.
Conduct briefing and debriefing sessions involving all sessional workers and volunteers.
Immediately report any safeguarding issues or concerns to the appropriate Line Manager, Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or CEO.
Attend any mandatory training sessions that are required within the role.
Ensure that session risk assessments have been read and followed before groups.
Requirements
Recognised professional qualification - NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent would be desirable but not essential.
Minimum one years' experience working with disabled young people or children
Can lead a small team independently and confidently
Is energetic, creative and responsible
Brings new ideas and uses their initiative
Is patient and understanding with the people we supportwhilst supporting our attendees and willing to adapt and be flexible during sessions.
Willing to support with personal care where needed.
Is over 18 years of age
Have the right to work in the UK.

Expected hours: 10am - 3.30pm Sundays, bi-weekly (2 x Sundays a month)
