The Group Proposals Manager is required to co-ordinate and produce proposal responses by assembling a proposal team that has the skills to prepare and submit a winning proposal, to support PD&MS Group with ongoing growth in the oil and gas, energy, industrial and renewables industries. Involvement in the full Bid Lifecycle and engaged at the beginning of the Bid and Pursue Phase with exit of the cycle at contract completion. As part of the overall business development, working closely with both the Business Development and Operational Teams.
Responsibilities:
Project Selection (Bid/No Bid)
In conjunction with the Business Development and Operations team, the Group Proposals Manager will ensure that client's technical requirements / scope of work is fully understood as is the submission requirements (format, deadline, etc)
Make recommendations on bid/no bid decisions
Prioritise tenders when capacity is constrained and take a view on pricing/commercial terms when Head of Commercial requires support
Prioritise and allocate work for the proposals team members.
Bidding Strategy
Lead storyboard sessions prior to bid landing
Ensure that the capture strategy is followed for all the prospective work
Encourage and present technical and commercial innovation in bid documents
Bidding Execution
Prepare the bid documents in line with agreed capture plan and procedures
Delivery of a complaint, professionally produced proposal within defined timeframes
Coordinate and review / edit proposal input from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, marketing, product teams, finance, commercial, legal and delivery
Develop own tender contributions whilst managing timely inputs from other contributors
Lead task allocation to ensure that all actions are identified and assigned ownership as required for the proposals construction process
Co-ordinate proposal governance/sign off
Document production
Submit proposals in accordance with client requirements
Manage workload to ensure submission deadlines are met
Contract Negotiations
Support the Business Development Team, nominated Project Manager, Proposals Lead with detailed back-up and analysis as well as relevant correspondence, clarifications and proposal documents
Supporting the Organisation
Participating in client facing activities to help generate leads and win new clients
Contributing to the development and implementation of the business strategy and assist with forecasting and updates and required
Providing leadership and manage the performance and development of reporting staff by providing mentoring and encouraging staff engagement and retention
Supporting the Business Development Director and participate in the smooth management of the BD department
Managing and motivating contributors to proposals to ensure that proposal activities are focused on winning orders and continuously improving conversion rates

About You
Qualifications:
Degree qualified in a relevant subject (preferred)
Qualification in Management
Experience / competence:
Significant, demonstrable experience in a similar position
Proven ability in planning, producing and delivering complaint proposals within a complex business environment.
Demonstrable experience in scheduling and running proposal kick-off meetings, leading storyboard sessions, facilitating key review meetings and final document.
Experience of managing and updating content library.
Experience in representing businesses in written and verbal format
Industry experience, Oil & Gas preferable
Understanding of competitive tendering and sales processes
Experience in managing and developing others
Competent in the use of MS Office applications, in particular excellent use of Excel and Word
Excellent written and spoken English
