About Centum Engineering
Centum Engineering is a dynamic, Irish-owned Electrical and Mechanical Engineering company, delivering complex, high-value projects across Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe. Since 2015, Centum has grown to a team of over 350 people, specialising in mission-critical infrastructure including data centres, pharmaceutical facilities, hospitals, and commercial fit-outs.
As part of our continued expansion, we are seeking a Group QAQC Lead to take ownership of our quality assurance and quality control function across the entire business, both on and off-site.
?
Role Overview
This is a senior-level position that will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and standardising QAQC systems, processes, and reporting frameworks across the Centum Group. The successful candidate will lead the digital transformation of our QAQC function, introducing automation tools, Power BI dashboards, and integrated IT systems to support project delivery and drive compliance.
Operating from our Toomebridge headquarters, the Group QAQC Lead will have full responsibility for the recruitment, mobilisation, and management of QAQC site teams across multiple jurisdictions in Europe. You will conduct regular on-site audits, manage quality deliverables, and ensure best-in-class practices are embedded across all live projects.
?
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Systems Development

Design and roll out a Group-wide QAQC strategy, aligning with ISO and client-specific standards.

Develop and maintain standardised QAQC processes, documentation, inspection templates, and test procedures.

Implement and manage digital QAQC platforms, including Power BI dashboards for real-time KPI tracking across all jobs.

Oversee the digitalisation of quality workflows, including automated inspection records, test packs, and NCR logging systems.

Collaborate with IT and data teams to integrate QAQC metrics into broader project performance dashboards.

Operational Oversight & Project Execution

Act as the central authority for all project QAQC mobilisation, setting up quality systems and teams for each new job.

Lead the procurement, training, and deployment of QAQC site personnel for projects across Europe.

Attend sites on a scheduled and ad hoc basis to carry out audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.

Support site teams in interpreting and executing project-specific quality requirements and ITPs.

Review and approve vendor/subcontractor documentation, ensuring traceability and alignment with Centum standards.

Raise and track non-conformances through to closure, ensuring learnings are communicated and improvements embedded.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

Produce monthly QAQC performance dashboards and reports, highlighting trends, compliance risks, and audit findings.

Implement a continuous improvement programme that reduces rework, improves first-time-right metrics, and increases client satisfaction.

Conduct post-project QAQC reviews to capture lessons learned and feed them back into the Group QAQC system.
?
Essential Criteria

Minimum 8 years' experience in QAQC leadership roles within construction, MEP, or engineering sectors.

Demonstrated experience in developing and rolling out QAQC systems and procedures at group or enterprise level.

Deep understanding of construction quality workflows, test plans, and vendor document control.

Ability to read, interpret, and audit technical drawings and specifications across multiple disciplines.

Previous experience managing QAQC site teams across multiple work fronts or countries.

Strong capability in IT systems, including QAQC platforms, Excel, and preferably Power BI for dashboard creation.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage senior management and site operatives.

Must be willing and able to travel regularly across Europe and work on-site where required.

Based in or within commuting distance of Toomebridge, Northern Ireland (preferred).

?

Desirable Criteria

Degree-qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, or Quality Management (or equivalent).

Certified Internal Quality Auditor or ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor qualification.

Experience using BIM 360, FieldView, SnagR or similar QA/QC software platforms.

Previous exposure to integrated management systems across safety, environmental, and quality.
