Joining HSBC's Group AI Management and Strategy (AIMS) team puts you at the forefront of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in one of the world's leading financial institutions. In a highly collaborative and fast paced environment, you'll be part of a team responsible for HSBC's group-wide AI Strategy and driving adoption of AI and Generative AI at scale.
Responsible AI at HSBC is actionable, risk-based, and outcome-oriented. It bridges the philosophical and the practical, translating principles into concrete processes, controls, and accountability structures.
In this fantastic new role, you will join a growing team to deliver HSBC's AI governance framework to oversee the safe and responsible use of AI across HSBC. You will collaborate with senior leadership across global business and functional lines, supporting compliance and alignment to group strategy.
In this role, duties will include:
Strategic Support: Collaborate with the Group Responsible AI Governance Lead and wider Group AIMS' leadership team to help drive strategic AI projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. This includes supporting in the building out of a small team to support the Group AI Review Committee and GB/GF AI Review Councils in overseeing HSBC's AI use cases.
Management Frameworks: Support in the development, implementation, and maintenance of AI management frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure transparent and responsible AI practices.
Policy Development: Support efforts to help ensure relevant AI-related policies, procedures, and controls are up to date and operating effectively.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with a range of senior leaders and cross-functional teams, including Compliance, Legal, and Technology, to oversee the transparent and responsible use of AI across HSBC. Communicate AI management requirements and processes effectively to stakeholders at all levels, fostering a culture of accountability and transparency.
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present regular reports on the status of strategic AI projects, highlighting key approvals, risks, and governance metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
To be successful in this role you should have the following skills:
Technical:
Risk Management: Expertise in identifying and mitigating risks associated with AI, including process and reputational risks.
AI Technologies: An understanding of AI technologies and machine learning, including their potential implications.
Familiarity with compliance frameworks and the ability to implement them effectively within a global, highly-matrixed organization.
Legal and Regulatory Knowledge: knowledge of the AI-related regulatory environment and its practical application
AI Management Frameworks: Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining AI management frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure transparent and responsible AI practices.

Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
