Role Description


We're looking for someone who can further strengthen our Group Sustainability Team to harness the power of our people, platform, brand and partners to drive change through philanthropy, environmental efforts, ethical practices and volunteering.


As Group Social Purpose Lead, you will join Group Social Purpose on an interim basis (maternity cover) to deliver positive social and environmental impact across our business and communities. You will play a key role in providing additional focus and energy to our community strategy, building on our strong legacy in this area.


You will have a growing remit, supporting delivery of social value programmes on an international level, and be responsible for ensuring we're measuring the impact we have in line with leading frameworks and regulatory reporting requirements.


You will be responsible for measuring and communicating the impact of our externally-facing activities including our philanthropic giving, using best practice frameworks and methodologies. You will be familiar with social value measurement requirements, CSRD and other relevant standards and regulations and ensure that we report accurately and transparently on our performance and progress.


You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders, to ensure alignment and integration of our sustainability and ESG objectives and initiatives.


In this role, you will be responsible for:


Supporting delivery of our social impact strategy on an international scale. Supporting the Group Social Purpose Manager to deliver on strategic goals, budget planning and management, and providing wider team support. Applying strategic thought to partnership opportunities, setting targets and guiding our investments to maximise positive community impact. Lead the input, management, and continuous improvement of social impact data using the Social Value Portal, ensuring high-quality, validated outputs that support the assessment and enhancement of social impact programmes across the business. Developing and presenting reports on the impact of our work to internal and external stakeholders, including supporting with working groups, Board papers and regulatory reporting preparation. Contributing towards the ESG communications strategy, to share detail on Impact Measurement to both internal and external stakeholders. Setting the tone and role model for others across the business to follow, acting as a representative for the Social Purpose team across the business and externally.

To be successful in this role, you will have:


Deep knowledge and experience of social impact measurement and reporting, using recognised tools and frameworks, including the Social Value Portal. Experience of developing and implementing ESG strategies and programmes. Knowledge of sustainability and ESG trends, issues and best practices, and their implications for our business and stakeholders. Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills, with the ability to handle competing tasks and deadlines. Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with diverse audiences and stakeholders. Solid verbal and written communications skills, with an excellent eye for detail. Experience of dealing with and managing senior stakeholders, both internal and external. Ability to collate, analyse and report on data to strengthen decision-making. Ability to plan and facilitate initiatives in line with business plans and strategy, using innovation and creativity to maximise stakeholder engagement. Ability to apply discretion, tact and confidentiality as appropriate. A passion for sustainability, social impact and ESG, and a commitment to making a positive difference.
