About the Role



As a Group Worker, you'll play a vital role in helping people overcome challenges related to alcohol and drug use. You'll support them one-to-one and in group settings, helping them take the next steps toward recovery, wellbeing, and community connection.

Your work will focus on running structured recovery and wellbeing groups, as well as providing one-to-one support in our Sheffield offices or in the community.

You'll help people:

Explore and address their relationship with alcohol or other substances Build skills for relapse prevention, coping and self-care Connect with community services and supportive networks Improve their health, confidence and social wellbeing

About You



We know there's no one "right" way into this role. Whether you bring professional experience, voluntary work, or lived experience, what matters most is your empathy, compassion and belief in people's capacity for change.

We'd love to hear from you if you:

Have experience supporting people affected by alcohol or other drug use Are confident facilitating groups or one-to-one sessions Can build trusting relationships and manage sensitive conversations Have good organisational skills and can use technology to support your work Understand the challenges people face when working towards recovery Bring a personal commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion Formal qualifications (e.g. NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care) are great but not essential if you can demonstrate relevant experience and a commitment to learning.
