The Role of Groupwork Facilitator is based within our Outreach and Advocacy team, within our Mary Street Office in the Centre of Sunderland.
We are looking for a dedicated individual who is able to project a welcoming, positive and proactive approach throughout the delivery of groupwork as well as following up with all attending service users through case work.
Who are we looking for
We are looking for an enthusiastic and effective Groupwork Facilitator to lead and coordinate our groupwork, creating safe, engaging spaces and following up with strong, supportive relationships with service users.
Administrative duties including inviting service users to group and ensuring OASIS is up-to-date with all relevant information, including Groupwork notes, Risk Assessments, Safety plans and Support plans.
Check-in calls (to service users on the waiting list for groups and to service users if they have missed sessions)
Preparation of resources and activities for groupwork sessions
Assisting with the setup of the groupwork room, and greeting service users - making them feel welcome and safe
Facilitating the delivery of groupwork, focussed on domestic abuse (including the Freedom Programme, Power to Change & DART)
Develop appropriate and professional relationships with service users, whilst maintaining confidentiality.

What skills and experience are needed?
Groupwork or Facilitation experience.
Knowledge of domestic abuse, impact and remedies.
Knowledge of local support systems and how to access.
Knowledge of substance misuse, mental health and related services and an understanding of issues related to substance misuse and mental health.
Knowledge of the effects of sexual, physical and emotional abuse.
Experience of multi-agency liaison.
