Job Description

GROW Your Future (GYF) is a Widening Participation (WP) initiative, designed to support students from underrepresented and/or disadvantaged backgrounds, by providing a gateway to accessing additional targeted careers support and activity. GYF offers opportunities through a variety of initiatives, and aims to be a supportive student community.
As a GROW Your Future Marketing Assistant, you will support the GROW Your Future team by focusing on the student experience, requiring specialist marketing and communications knowledge to promote GYF to students, and the many activities this includes to the GYF student community.

Pay Rate: 12.21 per hour plus 1.47 holiday pay
Start Date: 3rd November 2025
End Date: 31st July 2026
Interview Date: 23rd October 2025
Location: On campus/ Remote
Working Pattern: 3-5 hours a week

Tasks are likely to include:

  • Creating content and maintaining the Instagram channel which provides vital information about GROW Your Future to our student community
  • Maintaining contact with students enrolled on GROW Your Future
  • Managing marketing campaigns, and developing the GYF brand across campus, as well as creating other promotional material through Canva
  • Developing the GYF student community through the Instagram page
  • Gathering student feedback
Person Specification
  • Current student at Lancaster University
  • A current member of GROW Your Future (to find out more and see if you are eligible to join visit https://portal.lancaster.ac.uk/ask/grow-your-future/)
  • Skilled user of social media, with a focus on Instagram
  • Able to create attractive social media content including images and graphics through Canva
  • Ability to provide effective administrative support, including good knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular use of Word, Excel, MS Teams, and Outlook emails
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Desire and ability to work both in a team and independently
  • An interest in and commitment to promoting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
