Hastings Aquarium
- Home to over 3500 incredible aquatic animals and reptiles. Embark on an amazing underwater safari around the waters of the world meeting seahorses, turtles, tropical sharks, a giant pacific octopus and more!

Role Purpose
As a
Guest Experience Assistant
,you will be based across any of our three Discover Hastings sites, working in a unique, fun and engaging environment where no two days are ever the same!
You will have a passion for driving commercial performance, delivering great customer service and ensuring experiences are delivered to the most memorable of standards. A Guest Experience Assistant at Discover Hastings will be responsible for and contribute to all visitor facing areas of our operations, including food and beverage.
It's our Guest Experience team that will truly make each visit to any of our attractions memorable, with the aid of our core values and standard operating procedures.
Duties/ Responsibilities
To be approachable, knowledgeable, and engaging when dealing with customers at any Discover Hastings attraction
Provide the most efficient and welcoming entry and ticket sales process, whilst maintaining visitor queues and secondary sales expectations
Responsible for delivering educational tours and sessions to groups, birthday parties and schools
To follow cash handling and till policy guidelines to protect business revenue and personal performance indicators
Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold food, drinks and snacks in our catering outlet, adapting to menu and operating procedure updates throughout the year
To work flexibly and confidently during ad-hoc event operations, with duties and working hours that may be outside of our typical day-to-day role to meet the needs of events
Work to an agreed monthly rota and take responsibly attend all shifts in line with given availability

About you!
Demonstrate excellent communication skills with a welcoming personality
Enjoy working with visitors of all audiences, with ability to feed off customer energy and create joyful memories
Capable of working efficiently under pressure with a 'can do' attitude, including responding to emergency and crisis situations with support and direction of the Duty Manager
Experience working with food and beverage operations to high standards, including barista and food preparation duties
Experience working to sales targets and maintaining a self-motivated, commercial approach whilst not compromising service level
Availability to work shifts, including weekends, bank holidays, school holidays and some evenings
Able to use initiative to find and complete tasks without Supervision
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to a continuously growing experience
Knowledge of hygiene, health and safety and cash handling procedures
Able to commute to any Discover Hastings attraction
